Looks like I'll never be able to afford a nice Canadian web belt...this one sold for $316!?! I was sweating about the crazy $165 proxy bid I put on it.

Even blancoed ones are going for stupid money.

    OMG! Empty Why?

Post by Bill Sun Jan 23, 2011 5:59 am

What are the reasons for the high bidding? The belt was by a different maker, and had painted steel fittings. Both factors would add a bit to the value for a collector. But the price realized was outrageous.

Slightly off topic, but I have to ask this, as it confuses me. Why does everyone dislike blancoed equipment? Surely blanco is the sign of actual use - i.e its the 'real thing'. I have personally always preferred blanco on web.

PS whoever paid that much for any belt is just an idiot, simple as that

I think that if you will put a set together from blancoed items, every item has a different shade or color. Most people like it that everything has the same (not used/mint)color.

I usually try to get complete sets of blancoed and un-blancoed web. The only problem with blancoed web is that it is hard to get a matching set color-wise. Still looks good if you can get it close.
