    P37 web Empty P37 web

Post by Wouter Mon Jan 30, 2012 8:44 am

    Gentlemen,

I am going to focus purely on the Canadian Scottish and items from my area, therefore I am going to sell off some of my Canadian items, among which is a set of P37 webbing. As you can see on the picture, there is no Etool, but I have a broad arrow marked and 1943 dated shovel to go with the webbing. I replaced the etool with a mess tin in a closed canteen carrier. The gasmask bag is empty.

    On the picture are:
    Smallpack stamped MS&U 1942
    L-straps stamped ZL&T 1942
    Bayonet scabbard stamped MS&U 1941
    Skeleton canteen carrier stamped ZL&T
Closed canteen carrier (British) J(?)TO 1941 Messtins dated 1943 and broad arrow marked
    Basic pouches MS&U 1943
    Bandoleer C 1943 and re-stamped 17-1-45
Web belt MeCo 1943, with the name WARWICK written on
    Cross straps ZL&T 1942
Gasmask bag marked WW Ltd 1944
Face veil, Canadian, I have been told.

If anyone can give me a ballpark figure what a fair asking price for this is, I'd love to hear it.

If anyone can help me out, I'd be very happy. I bought these items some years ago and am not up to date at all regarding current prices for Canadian webbing equipment.

Also have some mint condition anklets to go with this, GP&R Ltd 1943 and C arrow stamped.

The belt is not Canadian and that would have been the big ticket item. I am reluctant to post values online as my idea of what this stuff is worth is likely going to be less then what others are willing to pay, but I'll give you something to start you off. I can still pick up the basic pouches locally in unissued condition for less then $4 each in quantity but see others asking up to $20 each. Unissued Canadian made small packs are not so common any more so that's a good item that could sell anywhere from $40 to $75 depending on where you look. The braces are maybe $10-20 each. I've seen the water bottles vary immensely in price as well but since they are still somewhat common I wouldn't pay more then $40 for the set. The bayonet frog and bandoleer should bring $15-20 each. The light respirator pouch is British made and another common item that's probably in the $10-20 range. I can't comment on the scarf without seeing close up photos of how it's constructed.

So there you have it... one person's opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

The above prices are in line with what would expect. However, having said this, I have been out of collecting P-37 Web fror quite some time. I pass it on dealers tables a the shows without even slowing down to look. One of things on my collection 'to do list' is to go through all my web gear and figure out just what I have. IIRC I stopped a 2 or 3 Canadian sets and 1 British set, with some extra odds and ends here and there.

IIRC on eBay a while back there were complete sets up for $160-$250, none of which sold. I know not very encouraging.
