    Forum Improvement Thread

Post by mk1rceme on Wed May 04, 2011 9:59 am

From now on lets put all the possible improvements for the forum here...that other thread has run it's course and is multi-topic.

Since the last time I posted I have changed the flag in the WWII section and will be looking at how to combine general discussion and misc. categories as Bill requested. Also will be looking at combining the collectors corner and the marketplace categories.

Please keep the suggestions coming as I really want to make this forum desirable to all members.

    Thanks! 2 thumbs up

Combined Misc & General Discussion in the WWI category...let me know what you think. I think it is good to keep an open section for those posts that just don't seem to fit anywhere. And sometimes it is easier for new members just to post something there since they are not familiar with the forum.

I will just have to go through them once in a while and distribute the threads where they are best suited. I distributed quite a few in the WWI section. If you see any that are in wrong sections, just let me know.

    Thanks!

Is everyone happy with the changes so far? Any other suggestions?

I am looking at other forum hosts right now. Any favorites that you like out there?

    THANK YOU

Post by Darrell on Tue Dec 27, 2011 5:06 pm

    Hi

Many thanks to whomever removed the pre-checked box about "notify me when a reply is made" when posting .

God!!!That was soooo irritating when I neglected to remember to un-check it.

    THANK YOU.

    regards
    Darrell

    Hey Darrell,
I think I have turned off notifications for your profile. If you can keep an eye on it for me and let me know if it worked.
I will look into unchecking that box in general but for now you should be good.
    Regards,
    Jeff

    Hey Darrell,
I believe you can do it yourself but I'm not 100%. If you access your profile and look at preferences it should be listed there. I used the admin panel. I'll check mine after work and see or perhaps if you get there first you might post back here for other members knowledge.

    Hi Jeff

I went into my profile and preferences and the notify me dot was already on "No" so I am at a loss as to what happened. I also see thatin this reply the "Notify me when a reply is posted" is again unchecked. Weird but not a big issue to me. Maybe it's sorted now.

    Thanks.

    regards

    Hey Darrell,
Yours would be unchecked now because I changed it last night for you. That is the process if you wanted to change it yourself.

    Memorials and Cenotaphs

Post by pylon1357 on Sun Jul 15, 2012 8:25 am

OK I must be more blind that I thought. I cannot locate an apporpriate section/Area, to post any photos of local Memorials or Cenotaphs. Guys can you all help me out here. I would like to post some photos of the Cenotaph in Bancroft Ontario, and the one in Navan Ontario.

I thought about the Memorials and Tributes Section but that is geared more toward the memory of specific individuals, as it should be.
