SFOR MICC Mine Decal

I got this decal from a good pal the other day. Don't know much about it. I assume these mark areas known to have mines...duh(ya think?)

Actually, it is just what it says.... a decal for the unit responsible for gathering and disseminating information on the location of mines and UXO's (unexploded ordnance) in Bosnia. It wouldn't have been used to mark a minefield. Real mine signs can be metal or plastic (normally) and would be similar to the red portion of the decal but without the SFOR and MICC lettering. Sometimes the sign would have the word MINES by itself in the triangle. There is a large variety of these signs and NATO military signs are red triangles but there is a huge variety of civilian organization signs that can come in different shapes.

I have a couple of the plastic, mine signs from Afg. They are trangular in shape and just MINES in white lettering. Sorry no photos as I am staying in Montreal this weekend. If I remember, I will get

I would think you are on the rigth track Dale. But I have been know to be wrong so many times lately.
