Gathering together items for a display

Folks,

I am in the process of culling together items to create a representative display of my GG grandfather's service in the CEF. I have his service records (which I acquired from the Canadian Archives) and I am just beginning. Since he wasn't a combat veteran and did only manage to earn a single medal (BWM) my arrangement will be a tad sparse. I did manage to obtain a pair of collar devices and a cap badge (forgive my terms if I am butchering the nomenclature) for his assigned unit.



I have a veteran's organisation pin for the group he belonged to after the war to accompany these. I would like to add something in addition. I am not familiar with the Canadian uniforms, so I am at a loss for what else would display well. I have seen the arc-shaped shoulder devices ("Canada") that vary in either solid or a cutaway variety. I am hesitant to add either one as I don't know if his uniform would have been properly adorned with either variant.

Any assistance you could render to the this American veteran who is clearly a fish out of water in your pond.

There are some more badges that would be worn on the tunic. There should be a number, 231, and a CANADA nationality title, probably the solid type. (I have a couple of these spare if you need them.)

What is the 231 for?

Ok...thought that was the case...but I wasn't certain.

I am betting that this is going to be a difficult task to locate one as it was challenging just to get the devices I currently have.
