Here is a pic or two of a Veteran I recently interviewed along with his memorabilia he took out of storage to show me.

He said the German flag came from a German barracks, possibly SS,in an area that they were battling through. As he and a buddy passed the barracks,he said to his friend he'd like to have that flag. The friend later met up with him and handed over the same flag to him.He is wearing his original uniform as well, except for the web belt...a friend gave it to him.(I asked him about the blanco).
    An amazing fellow...

I've seen photos of that helmet with the artwork online somewhere. Did he mention who painted it? It's very well done and I wish I knew someone who could make something similar for me with a PPCLI theme.

That is actually my helmet.I bring it along when I interview NNSH's or 3rd Div guys. Michael Kittridge out of the UK did it for me. I just told him what I wanted on the helmet, and I let him go from there.
    Awesome work!
I've been trying to find someone to do some more for me in the area, but no luck just yet. I'll let you know if I find them!
