Love it. I have only 1 timmies mug not opened. I sent home like 10 of the damned things. I have only the 1. left unopened. I still use one that has absolutely no writing left on it, just looks like a tan coloured thermal mug.

Nice.... I like those hats but since I don't drink coffee I never had a chance at winning one.

Ok come on Steve, you could have done like 1/2 the bloody camp did and just buy the empty cup sleeves. That was something going on that drove me bloody nuts.

Really? I didn't know that was going on. So basically, it was just like buying a lottery ticket? I guess as long as they were paying....

Tim Horton's Kandahar cup & hat Empty Tim's Coffee Cups

Post by edstorey Sat Dec 07, 2013 7:22 pm

Along with the hats and plastic mugs, there were also several versions of the camouflaged coffee cups.

As I have a little bit of 'me' time, I decided to move some of the posts from the "Latest Acquisitions" section.

This is one topic that brings back many great memories for me.

As I am cleaning up around tthe house I came across some used camo coffee cups as Ed showed above. I also came across 2 more brand new unopened Camo plastic timmies travel mugs, and 2 of my hats. LMAO.

I also came across this little gem. This leather backpack was one of the "Roll up the Rim to Win" prizes in 2011. It is 100% cool. It is made by ROOTS. To the best of my knowledge, there were not too many of these as prizes, so quite a rare item.

I love it when these Afghanistan topics come back to the top. I have a lot of memories from my time in KAF. Some good, some... Not so much.

Yes indeed. I was with the PRT in Kanadhar City, 2008-09. Didn't get to KAF that much, especially after going to the FOB at Spin Boldak for the last half of the tour.

Sarge, I would have loved to have gotten out of KAF. Unfortunately, as a civilian, if I did get out, I would have been sent home immediately on my own dime. Not a risk I was willing to take.

There was talk of a couple of us possibly being sent out to Ma-sum-ghar to help with the installation of the under body armoured plate kits for the Bison/Coyote but that was squashed. Too bad because I was one of the ones asked to go.

Would have been a nice trip. The Leopards were there if I recall. You guys did a great job making things work though. Be proud of your service brother.
