Love the 2 inch mortar HE bomb. Lots of the original finish and markings remaining. I would be nervous picking it up though....

I echo Steve, a very good chance the mortar round is live, and may be unstable.

    Digging Up Live Ordnance

Post by edstorey on Wed Jan 22, 2014 6:25 pm

I cannot stress enough how dangerous the practice of digging up live ordnance is. You are really endangering your life and perhaps even breaking the law by what you are doing. I can certainly understand the excitement of finding lost artefacts from the war, but getting killed or even suffering the loss of a limb hardly seems worth it. A professional dig site would have shut down and called in a disposal unit as soon as that 2-In Mortar round was discovered, very careless.

    Hey guys,

All ordnance was carefully handed over to "the service for war ordnance in Belgium".
And pics were taken by their approval.

I do have changed the pics because I want to avoid further disscusion.
