Maybe my drought is over??

Well I have not added anything worthy of mention to my collection for a while. Well that ended with today's postal delivery. I acquired another CG634 lid. I still want 2 more. (Yeah Greedy I know ) This one as well is a medium size. It is dated 1997, so an older one. The condition is just about mint. Much better condition than my other one. Photos will follow when I figure out where the heck I put my camera.

Also as a medals collector, I managed 2 single British War Medals. One to a member of the Central Ontario Regiment, the other to a member of the Quebec Regiment. In both cases, the single BWM was their full entitlement. Both are yet to be researched. Again, photos to follow.

1997 was the first year of issue for those helmets. As far as I'm aware, when 3PPCLI went to Bosnia in 1997 we were the first unit to be issued the new helmets.

That is an interesting piece of information Steve. I have yet to look into much about these helmets. Some place in my mixed up files, I think I have a manual for these helmets in PDF format.

Well, I broke out the camera this morning, loaded it with fresh batteries and took a few photos of my newest helmet. By far it is in much better condition than my other one.

Nice, what colour is the inside of the TW cam cover ? If it is white, then you have an early cover, green interior colour you have a late cover.
