    Reference books Empty Reference books

    Post by muskey124 Sat Nov 15, 2014 8:56 am

I am looking for some reference books about cap badges. I use to collect cap badges back in the 70's with other army cadets, so those cap badges were on the up and up. I just started to get back into collecting them a couple of years ago. But now with all the know fakes floating around out there. I thought that I should get a few books to help me tell the difference. Are there any suggestions on what books I should get? and the best places to buy these books.

    Thanks

Check out [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] The Brooker books are great from army badges from 1920 to unification. For CEF era you would need to find a source for the Charlton guides ( out of print) . For Pre 1914 you would need Mazeas Canadian Militia Badges Pre 1914 (Out of Print).

Hi Len, I have spare copies of Thompson's Cap Badges & Insignia of the Canadian Army 1953-1973 Vol.3 and Cap Badges & Insignia of the RCN RCAF and CAF 1953-1977 Vol. 4. $35 for the pair plus post.

Thanks for the offer Bill, but I made a promise to some one that I wouldn't buy any militaria stuff (as my daughter calls it my addiction) until after Christmas. If you still have them after the new year, I could buy the then.
