    Good Morning Everyone......

    For your viewing pleasure......

Came across a pair of very early challenge coins as used by the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry......

Serial numbered 173 and 174...... There was one sold on eBay a while ago numbered 7076 for $68.00......

They are about the size of a silver dollar and it weighs about the same.....

It makes me wonder about the materials.....

Surely not silver but if so a lesser quality of silver.......

    Mike

Definitely not silver... Odd that you found consecutive numbered coins as they should have gone to two different people.

I have 4 that my uncle gave me a few years ago. He got the other three from his buddies. One should be issued to him but I don't know which one. Is there a list of names somewhere that you can match them up? I have # 184,#186, #188 and #189. Cheers Brian

Brian, it would be worth contacting the Regiment. I know the Irish Regiment of Canada keep a ledger with the coin number and the name of the coin holders.

Yes, the regimental Headquarters (co-located with the 1st battalion) maintains the ledger. I have no idea if they will give you the information or not but it couldn't hurt to ask.

Contacted the regiment and they said none of those numbers match my uncle. They did not give out names. They also said they could not find his name on the registry which is strange. I will ask him about it in the spring when he returns from Florida. Cheers Brian
