    12 Batt Canadian Railway Troops CEF

    Here is a recent find, a capbadge for the 12 Batt Canadian Railway Troops CEF, Maker marked "JR Gaunt London"

    I really like the detail on the front of the badge, the way the red felt is attached is also interesting..

    Arrived in France February 1917, disbanded November 1920. Over 19,000 troops served in the Canadian Corps of Railway troops, 483 died, 1,383 were wounded.

    nice condition, were Rail troops overseas responsible for narrow gauge or all types of tracks and engines? always been fond of Steam!
