Very nice examples Ed. As uniforms and equipment are not my area of interest, I would like some more info on both these boots. The left hand one looks like a pair of ankle boots with a leather gaiter stitched on the top. As opposed to the right hand one, which looks like one piece all the way to the top. Would the left hand be an earlier issue that the right? Were they special issue to select troops? Or, not enough produced so only some troops got them?

Any light you can shed would be appreciated. Thanks.

The one on the left is US M1943 and that on the right Canadian High Top.

OK, I guess that explains the brown colour of the left hand one!
