    Would anyone be able to find out the name of the person with the serial number F1437?

    a bit of searching on the Library and Archives Canada site and you will find a form you can send off to inquire about service no's, bear in mind limited details will be given if the person has not been dead more than 20 years, but usually with a reply of request received they give a name to the number.

    you might also look at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site

    To expand a bit on John's advice. The following link will guide you to ordering records. I have been lucky in the past by calling the Archives and asking who the Regimental Number belongs to. Not always, but I have gotten lucky.
