Air Force Boots Empty Air Force Boots

    Post by pylon1357 Thu Jul 28, 2016 6:43 pm

While in KAF, one of my favorite pair of boots were my tan Air Force boots. I have heard many of the guys complaining about them, too stiff, too heavy, too whatever. As for me, these boots being green patched were excellent to be used as work boots.

I have been looking for another pair, and while out on vacation, I found these. New, complete and in the box.

First up is the sizing label on the box

Nice looking boots, Air Force had their own hot weather boots?

No, the air force didn't have their own boots. They were standard for anyone requiring steel toed work boots, lineman, engineers, etc.

I have only ever heard these referred to as Air Force boots. I got my first pair in KAF when I blew out my work boots. Our stores had nothing in my size so I was sent to CF stores to get some. I explained that I needed green patch wook boots in size 11. The counterman said ell I have Air Force boots that will fit what you need. He then handed me a pair of this style. Next pair I got from them, same thing, asked for Air Force boots in size 285/106 and these are the style he gave me again.

I often laugh to myself and think. Jeese it be great to get a set of WW2 Ankle boots or some third div boots. I wonder what happened to them all after the war.
Then I go into the garage and throw on my steel toe desert boots and mow my lawn.
