    Hey guys,
What’s your thoughts on this trunk? Royal Highlanders of Canada? What era?

I have never seen a military trunk that has a dome top..... Normally flat for easy stacking, storage and transportation..... The trunk belonging to Field Marshal Garnet Wolseley and its contents was destroyed in the great flood of 2013 here in Calgary...…

I think these dome tops are no later than 1840's-50's being made,

I passed on the trunk. The guy had it for $20 and I was going to take a chance on it. But if its not military then its just an old trunk I have to try and get rid of lol. I have enough military stuff taking up space here.

Oh, so you did pass on it. I guess we will never know what the little tag says on it or if there are any other identifying markings on it.

I think you made the right move. From my experience the military ones have more than just three initials on them. Even if it was military, I think you'd want the one that was undoubtedly a piece of militaria. When I buy something I know I'm just a caretaker and eventually the item will need to move on. With a piece like this, it may be hard to convince a potential buyer of its provenance.
