Identification of these items?

Hello new member here as I found this forum during a search for Canadian army memorabilia. I picked up some items years ago at a flea market and wondered if anyone can id them to date etc? I understand the ammo is 1981 from a date on the holders but what about the other items?

The first item is a Fullerphone from the WW2 era. It is a morse-based telephone instrument, developed during WW1, that cannot be 'tapped into' or heard on a regulat telephone. Basically, it can be used over regular phone lines, but remains secure. A good website on them is here:

They could be used phone-to-phone and via a telephone exchange. They also have the ability to be used over a phone line at the same time a regular telephone is using them (known as superposing).

By the way, you would need two of them to try it out.

Thanks very much. I did mange to get it powered up a few years back and you could hear the tone in the headset.

Looks like the webbing pouches are 1951 pattern...the OD colored belt is also 51 pattern. Can't tell what era the khaki belts are from...any makers marks on them? The black tubes are for the Lee Enfield rifle...they stash inside the buttstock. And of course, some pigsticker bayonets for the Lee Enfield.

Thanks again! I thought the pouches were post war. If I remember right there are no markings on the khaki belts.. just had a closer look and on one you can see 1968 on it..

They were used into the 80's as far as I know...probably even later. The P51 belt is a fairly sought after item...the pouches are common.

The belts appear to be missing the brace attachments though, no? If you're curious, some prices (in my opinion mind you so don't take it as gospel) As mk said the pouches are fairly common items, I'd say 2-3 dollars a piece in that condition, I've seen unissued ones in surplus shops for as little as 5. As for the belt I've actually been trying to get a hold of one for quite some time and I've seen them go for as much as 30-40 dollars on eBay auctions, Given the tabs are still in place. (I've taken a closer look at the picture, you might just have the belt upside down and I can't see them so it could be a nice mint belt) If the spike bayonets are just like that, no scabbard, depending on country of origin and price, I'd take a rough guess and say 15-20 dollars, they're fairly common. Not too sure on the bandoleers although I think they might be US M1 Garand bandoleers, but I know next to nothing about US gear. wouldn't know the prices the enfield oil bottles or khaki p37 belts either but maybe 10-20 dollars for the belts if they're plain old british ones, more for canadian ones I've seen, Unsure about prices for aussie stuff.

Oh, and your wooden ammo box appears to be held shut by yet more Canadian 51 pattern webbing, this time some utility straps.

As for the ammo, the date will be on the base of the cartridge itself. The bandoleers and stripper clips might not be dated the same.

Was i right in them being garand bandoleers?

The shells are dated 1963,1977,1978,1979,1981

I can't read the marks on the bandoleers but they appear to me to be Canadian 7.62 bandoleers which would fit with the casings which are also 7.62.

The writing on the bandoliers is as follows...
Ball C21
5rd Clips
Lot 785 IVI 81

Those were for the FN C1 rifle, I would think.
