I thought that a thread dedicated to military themed music would be a good idea on CMCF. If anyone knows of any song or video to add, please feel free!

I will start with a recent find from a old school hard rock band...Motorhead!

I'm sure most of us out there who grew up in the 80's remembers this hard-thrashing rock band. One of my favorites for sure. This song blew me away when I heard it recently. A fine tribute to the Commonwealth soldier.

This line says alot.............
But I knew at the time that a year in the line,
Is a long enough life for a soldier,

Powerful indeed.

I know of quite a few military-themed songs done in a lot of different genres...maybe a thread of Commonwealth musical tributes would be something to ponder here. I have so many half done threads going already though

A little off topic maybe but does the Remembrance song "Pittance of Time" fit here? I noticed on youtube there are a huge number of tribute videos for our fallen in Afghanistan, one of which closes with some words from an email I sent a friend.

My Grampa used to break into singing this song whenever he was half cut...it was quite amusing. I knew at a young age that the term was very derogatory to him.

Few people outside of Australia have heard of the Kododa Campaign and the 39th Battalion. It's a story about one scratch militia Battalion and their stand against the Japanese. Some of you may have seen the movie 39TH BATTALION.
