    Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen.....

Just thought that you might like to see a set of Photos and Documents that I have obtained with regards to the following Canadian......

    Roland Hope Johnston

    DOB - 10 Sept. 1891

    ENLISTED - Calgary, 3 Dec. 1915

12th Canadian Mounted Rifles - Sent to Lord Strathcona's Horse

    DOD - 13 Aug. 1918

    BURIED: Viller-Bretonneux Military Cemetery

I am sorry to say that I was unable to obtain his medals, memorial cross or plaque...... I wonder where they are.....?????

He was a well know rugby player here in Calgary and was also on the Calgary Tigers which won the Gray Cup just before the war......

There are a total of 7 pictures so I may have to split them up.....

    1. His original grave and marker before he was moved to the Viller-Bretonneux Cemetery.....

2., 3. And 4. The returnable letter sent to his family by the Imperial War Graves Commission.....

    5. Picture taken on enlistment..... Badges of 12th CMR.....

    6. Picture of him in padding while playing for the Calgary Tigers (Part of set of 20 postcards of all the team members).....

    7. Newspaper clipping.....

    Mike
