    Digging through the memorabilia I've inherited from my Great Grandfather's military service between 1889 and 1920 I came across this item.  I have no idea what it is.  It appears to be some sort of decoration, perhaps worn around the neck?

    Any ideas? It's hard to make out in the picture, but that a very heavy gold fabric with scarlet trim.

    Is that a tassle on the bottom? Possibly a sword knot? Cheers Brian
