Old Red Ensign flag

Hello everyone,

This is my first participation with a question open to all. I acquired an old red Ensign flag many years ago and despite my occasional research I have not yet been able to identify this old flag. All I know is that it is old but in reasonably good condition.
Does anyone have any idea of its age and when it could have been used?

Thank you! I would have thought that this flag could date from between 1873, when Prince Edward Island joined as the 7th province ( the flag has coats of arms of 7 provinces ) and 1905 when Saskatchewan and Alberta were added as the 8th and 9th provinces?
Any further thoughts?

The crown on the flag is the Tudor Crown which was worn by Edward the VII in 1902 and was replaced by St Edward's crown on badges etc. when Elizabeth became Queen.
