BC Dragoons/Elgin Regiment badges

Gentlemen,

I was looking for something else when I stumbled upon these two badges I had lying around. Are they any good? Thumbnails are clickable.

Good as in wartime manufactured or good as in legitimate Canadian shoulder badges?

Good as in original, wartime manufactured badges. Though I'd like to know whether or not they are legitimate at all as well.

Bill Alexander is better qualified to answer the question if your badges are wartime manufacture. To me anyway, they look to be legitimate Canadian, but I would be surprised if they are wartime manufacture. Remember, the BD insignia was used by the Canadian Army up to the early part of the 1970s with many of the badge designs staying virtually unchanged throughout the period.

The flashes of these units are both difficult to pin down as to period of manufacture. The BCD's looks like it may be SWW, while the Elgin's pattern was issued in the same pattern from the SWW era through to unification.
