Irish Regiment of Canada

Hello. I just joined yesterday and had a question about the Irish Regiment of Canada. My friend has a WWII battle dress with the Irish Regiment of Canada arcs on both arms and a beret with the unit insignia. The arcs are the ones with a dark green background and black lettering. I've seen the arcs in several different shades, so I was wondering if the background colors meant anything in particular. Also, did this unit only serve in combat in Italy during WWII?

The colour of the Shoulder Flash is normally the regimental colours but not always......

I have never seem black lettering on any Irish Regiment of Canada shoulder title. I would love to see a photo of it.

War time colours were Yellow on Green. There are post war titles with a Buff or Creme coloured lettering.

I have not tried to upload any photos for quite some time, but it should not be a problem.

The Irish saw much combat in Italy and in Holland.
