5th Div Officers Brodie Helmet

Evening ladies and gents,

This one just went on Ebay for $381 CAD, which imo is a steal. Unfortunately I was outbid by $40 in the last few seconds

It was incorrectly listed as a US helmet, which is probably why it went so cheap and undetected.

I figured I would post photos anyways, just for reference.









Maybe one day I'll find one again, nice and cheap like this one as!

Very nice piece. Too bad you missed out! This is not an "Officers" helmet. It is a standard issue helmet that may have been worn by an officer, but the liner is not higher quality as would be seen in an " Officer's " helmet. It was worn in France by 5th div artillery. It looks rimless which makes it better although these rims regularly became separated from the helmet.

I have one of these brodies....no liner and a bit beat...but nice.

nice looking helmet, I also suspect it is a rimless type, a similar one is also for sale on a Toronto dealers site, unlucky with the bidding, keep looking and something will come your way

Johno and Ypres, I suspect that the helmet may have been a later rimmed version, but the rim had come off at some point. From my experoence, the rimless lifs thst I have seen are of poorer build and typically less "symmetrical" and feature crimped and wavy metal.

Im on mobile at work right now (swabbing chicken butts on an alberta chicken farm), but will attach some photos for discussion when I get home.
