    Was on Kiska in 1969 and were not allowed to take anything off the island..... Looking at the pictures and from my memory it looks like some items have been removed.....

    It looks like a neat place to visit. I imagine patrolling all the sites would be a nightmare. I would love to take my metal detector into the Canadian sectors but probably better that everything stays put.

    Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing that link. I am a bit torn about whether or not it is best to leave those items in place or to consolidate them in a museum somewhere so that they don't degrade any further. Eventually there will be nothing left of these artifacts if they are left in their current environment. At the same time it is nice to see items exactly where they were left during the war. As a collector it is hard to see artifacts not cared for.
