Hi again all. Thought I show off another piece from my collection. I know this sounds cliché, but I found it at a garage sale a couple of years ago. I was buying a Spitfire picture and a dart board, went to pay the man, and found this sitting beside the cashbox, $20.00 on the tag. At the time, I didn't really know what I had found, but $20.00 for another bayonet seemed a fair price, so I handed over.
Turns out it is a Canadian P1893 bayonet, one of 1000 made by Wilkinson of London in 1894. At the time I also thought it strange to be unsharpened, but as I have found out that's how it should be. It seems to be all marked correctly, although most were stamped with RRCI and the weapon or rack number on the hilt, but this one is not. It didn't come with the scabbard either, but that gives me something to look for at the next garage sale....
