    Hi!

Anyone know were I can find pictures of a member of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers wearing a RAC helmet with the flash on the side?

I try the LAC but I didn't find anything.

    Thanks for your help!

Morning Van Doos I will snoop around a little tonight after work and see what I can come up with I think I might have something on one of my files or flash cards somewhere as I do seem to remember seeing a period image just can't for the life of me remember if I have it on file or I seen it somewhere else have a good day.

    Good morning Mark!

    Thanks for your help.

Since last night when I post pictures of my helmet on different forum and collector's pages, I received always the same comments:'' It's the first time we saw a helmet like this with a flash on the side.''

It's important for me to support my collection with historical document. So if you can provide me a picture of a member of the Sherbrooks Fusiliers with a helmet with a flash on it, that will be great!

    Thanks!

Hi Van doos, The 27 CTR formation sign painted on your helmet represents a very short period of time in the history of the regiment. The patch with the gray stripe represents the 3 CTB, (later redesignated 3 CAB) . The tank (armoured) regiments of 3 CTB were flipped with the tank regiments of 2 CTB in July 1943. The sign must have been painted on the helmet between the time the Sherbrooke Fus were transferred from 4 CAD to 3 CAB until the time that regiment was exchanged in the order of battle with the "old" 2 CAB.

Nice shot I have got to ask though upon enlarging the image to look at the chinstrap which IMO is a Mk II it would also appear there is a Mk III chinstrap attached as well must say I am a little baffled by this hmmm

Just thought I would update the thread with a few extra outdoor pics I have added a set of headphones and a microphone ( handset No'7 ) with the proper 5 point connecting plug.
This set can be used with WS-19, WS-22, WS-31 and or WS 43 (with plug) and I believe are correct in this configuration to be used with this Mk I HSRAC .

How wrong someone can be !! Please enlighten with your thoughts of why you think it looks suspect
    Please
Check out ww2 headgear in military section at below site
    https://www.blightymilitaria.com
Also can send 3 other assessments provided by professional ww2 helmet experts of which they all think this is completely authentic original and very rare , I have sold the helmet because somebody really wanted it for his collection but wanted to reply as wondered about how you come to think it’s suspect what qualifications you have to access that also then to put a comment like that on a open forum only makes me think that your extremely jealous
