A friend dropped by with this para helmet, I thought it was interesting as it has the guys name, service no. (which started with SL ), company info and amount of jumps,
I have no idea on the eagle on the side probably a kid, thats ok, anyway apart from that its not in too bad shape

I read that 1953 was the last year BMB made these helmets, BMB being the maker Briggs Motor Bodies, interestingly Briggs was a subsidiary of an American company Briggs Manufacturing, according to this website
    http://tractors.wikia.com/wiki/Briggs_Motor_Bodies

Having handled a few paratrooper helmets, it was interesting for me this example as it appeared just an original green finish (colour I would have associated first of as being ww2) rather than having repaints

Here is an unusual para helmet, why is there a 1 CAN DIV patch painted on the side, were the 1CANPARA not attached to the British?

    Parachute Helomets 101

Question 1. How long were British Parachute Helmets used by the Canadian Army?

exactly Ed, use was long, I was more curious to know what this helmet could be, in that long line of use, just out of interest in helmets in general, if insignia etc were real at all

oh and I did see first hand a para helmet that was worn by the medic himself during the Falklands, it was 1944 dated liner and chinstrap was 1944 dated too, a dated chinstrap is hard to find from all the ones I have seen over time
