Just picked up a pair of interesting old army boots, anyone have an opinion ?

Yes, one boot still has legible marking on sole, first letter hard to make out (W) D 9 1/2 E,
and on the inside has a curved 1943 stamp over what I think is Eagle (maker?)
there is also a stamp that looks like ND with a number underneath.

"DDay invasion Boots". These are Canadian made and were worn by 3rd Division and other Canadian units on DDay. I don't think they were a special design specifically for the invasion but like many things, collectors have coined the name and it seems to have stuck. They are very hard to find. You are lucky to own them.

No info on those. I suspect they are a postwar Dutch or Belgian pattern which was modelled on the Canadian DDay Boots.
