I found this nice side cap to the Alberta Veterans Volunteer Reserve in Medicine Hat. The VVR were more of an auxiliary police force than military unit during WW2.
The manufacture of the hat is not like the military issue side cap, note the flaps do not fold down, and the buttons are for display, no button holes like the issue side cap.
