    Just a quick pic on the ol' mannequin...

    The vest is dated 1970.

    That vest appears to have been modified at some point. Originally the vest would have a zipper closure with a flap that was made from the same material as the rest of the vest and it closed by means of snaps. We still used those vests in the early 90's.

    This one is the second model for the M69. No zipper or snaps on this one, all velcro closure. A vet I know in Olds said he wore the exact same one in Cyprus. I don't think these were too popular since the velcro comes loose on these when they are tore open with force...this one has the same problem.

    These were originally made for the South Vietnamese Army but many made it to other countries.

    Okay, that's a first for me. I've never seen this version before including all of my scattered research on Vietnam war items. Thanks for the lesson.
