I posted this accidentally in the WWI section, mods if need be I will go back there and delete the other post...
Hey everyone. Brand new here and thought I would show my Canadian helmets and my British dispatch rider's helmet (I hope showing the Brit helmet is alright).
I've been collecting gear and helmets for a year now but my main focus has been on Allied rifles and their accessories, and Canadian gear.
Here we go!
This one is my current favorite. Here's what I think I know so far, it has the screw in style liner dated 1945 V.M.C., the high rivets, and a post war chinstrap. Also has possible original paint and a post war net. The shell has no visible maker's mark. My favorite Canadian helmet!
This one I picked up from a friend in BC. Its marked AB 805 which he figured was a post war Canadian airbase. I've never really looked into it thought to prove it yay or nay. The shell is marked G.S.W MkI 1941. The liner is quite dry and I've never disassembled it to look for other marks.
British dispatch rider's helmet. Hopefully it was OK to post this one here! This one I just picked up at a local gunshow of all places. Very interesting helmet as well. Built by Briggs, with no visible date. I havent really had time to look into the history on these, to be honest I never really thought I would find one.
This one is my second example of a MkIII. This one has a size 7 1945 CCL? liner in it, post war paint and chinstrap.
I can't wait to hear your guys' input on these pieces. I've been putting off joining a forum like this for too long, the gun sites just don't cut it for gear collecting!
Thanks in advance and hope to have a great and enjoyable stay here!
