Large back pack

Picked this up with some other stuff, the photos do not make it look as big as it is, cant find any marks, there is one strap stud that did not go through so thought this could be a second and then sold as surplus, any way looks canadian military, has two large straps that come over the top to attach stuff outside

Doesn't look Canadian to me. Possibly European, but anything farther than that and it would really be a guess. If you do find any kind of markings on it, be it stencilled or hand written, post a picture as sometimes the style of lettering can give you a clue.

It is post-WWII commercial camping equipment. It was not uncommon for survey crews to use this type of equipment in northern Canada.
