Thanks Clement,
Almost 7 years past since I posted this, the helmet is still in my collection. And will not leave it.
At first I bought it because of the camo paint and the overall untouched look.
I did not post it here, but after a year I discovered a service number in the liner, it was for me in an unusual place (the number).

At closer examination the number was also on the chinstrap and written with pencil inside the dome.
I ran the number trough the commonwealth graves commission website and found out that the helmet belonged to Carl Cecil Smith of the Lake Superior Regt.
He was KIA liberating Bruges (Belgium) and is buried at the Adegem Canadian war cemetry.

When we were on vacation on the Belgian coast I vistited his grave.
So it is not only a nice helmet, but also a very special helmet.
If anyone here has any aditional info about pvt. Smith it would be much appreciated.
