The Canadian Army used the FNC1 and FNC2 during the cold war, Australia along with other commonwealth forces used the FN as well. The Australian Army in Vietnam used the FN and the Australian SAS were well known for adapting their rifles to suit their needs. One conversion was to take their version of the C2 a squad full auto version of the FN and adapt it to jungle warfare. This included taking the bipod off the L2A1 and sometimes cutting the barrel to shorten the overall length of the rifle. This picture shows a SAS adapted L2A1 with a grenade launcher attached and bipod removed, note the 30 round mag, and the unusual rear sight.
