Looks good …. make sure all male and female snaps are brass. Nickel finish on any of these points to a postwar item. This is the third smock I know of that came out of a thrift store. Great Find.

Thanks Ypres, all details point to a ww2 smock, could always be 46 dated too but it is what it is and was chuffed to find it. I did pick up some wings at the show friday in Burlington (sorry for the rotation) not that I am going to sew them on, but I am confident these are ww2 type

I believe those are post war wings. For me the shroud lines should extend to the edge of the canopy (There are post war wings where this is the case as well but for me to be wartime the lines need to touch the edge of the canopy). The Joyce book identifies this one as a type 8, first issued in '49? I'm not an expert so take this for what its worth....just my opinion.

    Fantastic find!!! Congratulations!

As for the wings, I have to concur with ypres. Those do indeed appear to be post war type 8 wings.
