54 pattern Packboard Empty 54 pattern Packboard

    Hi

    A landfill find. Very Happy

Made by Pioneer Parachute Company of Canada.

Aluminum and fabric. Missing the head strap.

No manufacturer's marking that I can see. Faded away on the fabric, I think.

Tag has an illegible NSN and the descrip "Packboard metal CA..." ...maybe.

54 pattern Packboard Empty interesting Score

Post by Ian B Tue Apr 14, 2020 5:12 pm

    Hey Darrell,

Hope it wasn't the landfill off of the Shirley Rd! hahaha

Is the landfill equivalent of "dumpster diving", LANDFILL SURFING??

    All that aside, nice score.

    Hi Ian

    Hope you're well.

No, not Shirley Rd. Minto, actually.

Time spent in Fishing hole recce is seldom wasted. Wink

    Hi Darrell,

    Seldom wasted, indeed.

I am well, thanks. Haven't gone stir crazy yet. Getting the occasional badge in by mail, and working through Bill Alexander's Opus Gigantica!!

Hope things are well for you and the family also. Stay safe, stay healthy, and we'll see you at the next show (whenever that might be).

    Hi Ian

Glad to hear it. Very Happy

Good luck in your reading. I understand it's quite detailed with regard to writings. A mutual friend told me the other day that if it weren't for the Isolation Order, he'd never get through it!! Wink

RE the packboard, my initial giddiness wanted me to believe it was a 1st SSF Yukon Pack!! I soon disappointed myself! 54 pattern Packboard 1096635026

28 May in Bedford Legion....if we're lucky. rock on

54 pattern Packboard Empty Windsor Show

Post by Ian B Sat Aug 01, 2020 5:53 pm

    Hi Darrell,

Yeah, should be a real hoot. As long as the guys haven't spent the money for badges on some non-essential items (food, rent, booze), you may see a lot of money and badges change hands!

Unfortunately, my knee surgery was moved up from mid-Oct. to end of Aug. So, I'll still be in the midst of recovery and not able to travel. Going to miss the Windsor show for this year. Hopefully, I'll be up and around for the Moncton show (if that's a go) in Nov.

All the best to you and the family. See ya when I see ya!

    Ian
