Hi All
I have just registered for some help if possible.
I recently purchased a sword at an auction here in the UK. It is etched to the Victoria rifle corps and has the owners initials 'WHV'. I assumed this was the Victoria rifles based in London in the 1850s and spent quite a while looking for WHV without success.
However after searching for similar swords online i found one by the same maker (Busain&co) that was attributed to the Canadian Victoria rifles.
I am writing to see if my sword is likely to be a Canadian as well and if that being the case to see if there is a way of identifying WHV.
I am attaching pictures in the hope that you may be able to correctly identify it. :)
