WW2 Canadian battledress patches Empty WW2 Canadian battledress patches

Hello everyone! I have a few questions regarding battledress patches that i could not address on my own through the internet. Is it common to have battledress tunics to have both canvas and cotton patches? All the references i have been seeing so far only have one or the other. I am working on a WW2 short film and would appreciate any tips you can give me for details regarding the uniforms i am involving.

On another note, I have also been looking at some airborne uniforms. What are some good tips for spotting a repro vs original airborne patch? I understand for cotton there is a thickness difference, along with details with the Pegasus wings and where the spear point passes through the 4-5th feather.

Mixed canvas and embroidered patches are common.
